Sheldon's new refectory has been awarded a Conservation and Environment Award.
We were delighted to accept this award from the Chippenham Civic Society on 15th May at the annual awards ceremony at the Rotary Club, Chippenham.
The pupils and staff continue to treasure our new facilit. It has significantly improved our social space during break, lunch and non-contact times.
At Sheldon we know the importance of social interaction and development of young people’s skills outside the classroom and remain committed to improving the quality of pupils’ free-time around the school. T
The refectory project created a number of new spaces including a covered piazza area. Pupils were involved in choosing the décor, furniture and layout. Their ideas have played a key role in the project’s success and they value the space as a result.
The new building is also proving to be an excellent facility for staff work and meeting areas, a staff training venue and for refreshments during school performances and productions.
Members of the School Council (2010-2011) are delighted with the news of our award and are looking forward to seeing our new plaque in the refectory soon. |
