Birds of Prey at Sheldon
Sheldon School has a strong tradition for opening its doors to the community for lifelong learning and this week
proved to be no exception.
Families gathered to witness an amazing spectacle of wildlife. Pupils and parents analysed the castings of a Barn Owl, Tawny Owl and Eagle Owl for evidence of their prey. The birds happily perched on their observers whilst their beaks, claws and feathers were studied for shape, colour and texture.
The Eagle Owl stole the show with a full display of its metre long wing span whilst the piercing navy blue eyes of the Tawny Owl won the hearts and minds of the more romantic visitors.
Stockhamarch were particularly pleased with the success of the event and hope to continue their extra-curricular work with pupils at Sheldon in the future.
