17/01/06 - Sheldon praised at Ofsted reception
Sheldon has been highlighted as one of the best schools in England by the government's top school inspector. The new chief inspector, Maurice Smith, was speaking at a reception for headteachers of all the south west schools named as outstanding last year. Sheldon was singled out as the only comprehensive school in the south west to have received this accolade three times - making it one of only 24 schools in England.07/12/05 - Sheldon is the best of the best
Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Schools has named Sheldon in his annual list of outstanding schools.This is the third time Sheldon has received this accolade - the maximum possible. We now join a list of only seven mixed comprehensive schools across England to have been named three times. Sheldon is the only comprehensive school in the South West region in the list of top schools.
