It is now possible to get the Sheldon Standard by e-mail.
Parents have often complained that their copy of the fortnightly newsletter gets home late or not at all. Many have found themselves delving into their child's school bags in search of the latest news and events from Sheldon.
Carolyn Wakefield, who compiles the newsletter every two weeks, is pleased that the Standard is now available electronically. "It's a shame that many parents haven't been able to keep up with the news from Sheldon. Now they will be sure to get their copy on the right day."
Mr MacMahon, the headteacher, hopes that the new system will be popular with parents. "It would be great to have hundreds of families signed up by Easter. In time, I would like to have the majority of families on the mailing list. I am conscious that a sizeable minority do not have access to the internet, so the Sheldon Standard will continue as a paper newsletter".
