From the very beginning, pupils joining Sheldon are surrounded by a wealth of support and guidance from both adults and older pupils.
Alongside our existing provision, a significant number of our pupils choose to train to become pupil mentors in Year 10 and Year 12. Training to become a mentor involves learning coaching skills and developing independent thinking and learning skills. Our pupil mentors act as a source of help and guidance and this proves particularly effective in helping others with time management, organisation and friendship issues. This is not restricted to younger pupils and it is common for sixth form mentors to support pupils throughout their GCSE studies.
