2007 was another record year for Sheldon's examination results.
Key Stage 3 results in English were Sheldon's best ever. 60% of pupils achieved level 6 or above and 33% achieved level 7. Both maths and science results were second best only to those in 2006: 84% achieved level 5 or above in maths and 87% in science. Pupils at Sheldon are achieving on average half a level higher in each subject than the national average.
At GCSE the headline 5+ A*-C figure rose from 66% to 71%, slightly ahead of the school's previous best achievement in 2005.
Last year at A level, the average UCAS points per student was the highest ever achieved by a Wiltshire school. 356 points was the highest by any comprehensive school in the region. Sheldon was 25th in the national league tables published in The Guardian and The Independent.
This year, with a much bigger group of students, Sheldon again topped the Wiltshire tables with 333 points per student. This put us 72nd in The Guardian's table of England's comprehensive schools.
