Youth Speaks

Congratulations to all Sheldon teams who recently represented our school at the district heats of Youth Speaks: a prestigious national public speaking competition. In teams of three, pupils prepared and delivered a ten minute speech on a subject of personal interest. Our pupils chose an impressive variety of intriguing, sometimes unconventional and challenging topics for discussion. Bea Badelley-Chappell, Alex Sutton and Freya Webb were runners up in the senior heats with their speech entitled 'Doors', even though this is their first year in the 15-17 age category. Emily Cooper, Molly Wright and Josh Edwards claimed first prize and an impressive array of trophies for their speech on man's best friend. Well done to all involved; making it to competition level reflects an incredible amount of dedication, research and resilience. Regional heats, here we come.
