In geography, Year 10 students will be entered for the AQA examination.  The main topics covered are natural hazards, urban environments, coasts, rivers, ecosystems, natural resources and the economic world.  Students will develop a range of geographical and enquiry skills that will be examined in an issue evaluation context using a range of different resources.  Coursework is no longer an element of the linear examinations, but fieldwork will still take place in an urban and a coastal environment.

In history, we follow the Edexcel GCSE specification. This includes four examined units, across three papers.  Paper 1 is Medicine through Time from 1215, with a focus on injuries and treatments on the Western Front during the First World War. Paper 2 has two sections - the Cold War during the second half of the twentieth century and the early years of Elizabeth I's reign. Paper 3 is focused on Germany, 1918-45. This means we study a wide range of topics, people, places and time periods.
