Year 12 and 13 students are given the opportunity to further develop their knowledge and understanding of religious studies in a more philosophical manner. We will be following the OCR religious studies course. The focus will be on philosophy, ethics and Christian thought.

The course gives students the opportunity to develop their philosophical thinking skills and put famous arguments to the test. It is an excellent preparation for university, as we encourage learning through discussion, group work, independent research and of course essay writing.

Alongside this course we run a two night residential to The Beacon Youth Centre where we launch one of the units studied. Students thoroughly enjoy their time away often commenting that they want to come back. A few years ago, we were fortunate to meet and work with the famous British philosopher, Keith Ward. This is usually a solid mix of hard work and fun activities.
