Boyz-2-Men Programme
Last term we welcomed Richard Pomfrett to Sheldon to deliver his Boyz-2-Men program to a small group of students. Boyz-2-Men is a dynamic, evidence-based programme that has gained national recognition for it's impactful work. It is designed to engage small groups of young men in meaningful discussions and activities to help understand masculinity.
Many boys and young men face an array of pressures, magnified by the complexities of social media and online content. The Boyz-2-Men sessions aim to address these challenges head-on by exploring a variety of topics, including:
- Developing a healthy sense of identity and promoting positive behaviours
- Equipping boys with tools to manage their mental and emotional well-being
- Building resilience against harmful online influences and critical thinking about masculinity
- Fostering gender allyship and active bystander behaviours
- Creating long-term cultural shifts in relationships and respect across school life
- Empowering boys as positive role models and voices for change
Following their attendance at the sessions, the selected students will become peer mentors, offering guidance and support to younger students. We believe that the Boyz-2-Men programme will offer invaluable insight and skills to our students, helping them grow into thoughtful, confident and responsible young men.
