DofE Gold Award Ceremony
Each year the Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award recipients are celebrated at a special ceremony at Buckingham Palace. Sheldon School and Sixth Form alumni, Molly Wright, attended the special event in May to receive her Gold Award. Unlike Silver and Bronze, Gold recipients have 12-18 months to complete the programme that includes the treks organised by Sheldon, volunteering, skill building, physical challenges and a residential activity. Please join us in congratulating Molly on the successful conclusion of her Gold Award!
This year marks the 70th Anniversary of DofE. To honour this anniversary, DofE leaders were also invited to the ceremony. Our DofE Coordinator, Miss Langdon, was invited after receiving an award for her seven years of service to the programme. We are very lucky to have such a dedicated leader of our Duke of Edinburgh's Award programme!
If you are inspired to take on the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, you can begin in Year 9 with the Bronze Award. Miss Langdon will send information home to parents and students at the beginning of the school year to let you know all the details about the programme and how to sign up.
