German Theatre Trip

26 Mar 26

Our Year 10 German students recently had the chance to attend a German theatre production of Das GruselhausĀ in cooperation with St Mary's school in Calne, who were excellent hosts for the event. It as a wonderful experience for our students who had an opportunity to hear German vocabulary in action, as well as attend a talks after the performance by a young Goethe Institute Ambassador and a former St Mary's pupil currently studying languages at Oxford. Both talks emphasised the opportunities that learning a language can offer students in their future.

Funding for this enrichment activity was also provided by the Friends of Sheldon School.

My favourite teacher was Mr Girvan. It was impossible not to absolutely love English if he taught it. He was just the nicest human being and he never raised his voice at our class once and I had him for years from year 8 to year 12.
