Congratulations to all the students who participated in the UK Maths Trust Intermediate Mathematical Challenge. Over 120 students from Year 9 and Year 10 participated in the competition with 60 receiving awards for their scores. The Intermediate Mathematical Challenge is a 60-minute, 25-question multiple-choice challenge designed to encourage mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency.

This year we saw fantastic results with 17 students in Year 9 and 12 students in Year 10 receiving Bronze Awards, 11 students in Year 9 and 12 students in Year 10 receiving Silver Awards and 2 students in Year 9 and 6 students in Year 10 receiving Gold Awards. These results are particularly pleasing given the competition is open to students from Years 9, 10 and 11 across the country.

We'd also like to applaud Eason, Jack, Alex and Samuel for moving on to the next stage of the competition.

Sheldon gave me confidence in my abilities and supported my ambitions. Going to a state school has many benefits over private in terms of real-world experience and being friends with a varied group of students. This has helped me in my life since school.
