Mental Health Awareness Week 2026
During the week of 11-15 May 2026, we will be celebrating Mental Health Awareness Week. Throughout the week, a range of activities will take place, designed to raise awareness of mental health while equipping students with practical strategies to support their wellbeing.
The theme for the week, as set by the Mental Health Foundation, is ‘Take Action’, encouraging us to focus on action ‘For Yourself. For Someone Else. For All of Us’.
With the support of a team of Sixth Form Wellbeing Ambassadors, the following activities will take place throughout the week:
Tutor Work
Developed by our Sixth Form Wellbeing Ambassadors, tutor time sessions will encourage students to consider ways they can boost their mental health, for example through teamwork and acts of kindness.
Assemblies
Assemblies will be delivered to year groups by Sixth Form Wellbeing Ambassadors, with a focus on mental health and wellbeing.
Green Ribbon Pin Badges
As the global symbol for mental health awareness, green ribbon pin badges will be purchasable from main reception for a £2 donation.
Litter Pick
With a focus on ‘For All of Us’, students are invited to sign up to take part in a litter pick during lunchtime on Monday 11th May. This also qualifies as a ‘Be Kind’ event in our Character Awards Scheme for students in years 7, 8 and 9. Students must sign up by Friday to take part. Limited spaces are available.
Walk and Talk
With a focus on ‘For Yourself. For Someone Else’, students are invited to take part in a Walk and Talk during lunchtime on Tuesday 12th May. Students must sign up by Friday to take part. Limited spaces are available.
Sheldon Sing-along
On Wednesday 13th May, we will be hosting our first Sheldon Sing-along. During lunchtime, uplifting songs will be played on the field, with students encouraged to sing along to boost their mood.
Wear It Green Day
On Thursday 14th May, and for a £1 donation, students and colleagues are invited to wear an item of green clothing or a green accessory to show their support for mental health. Please note, this is not a non-uniform day. Students are expected to wear their normal uniform with the additional green item. Cash donations will be collected during tutor time, and donations can also be made online via our JustGiving page. All funds raised will be donated to Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance.
Year 12 Cake Sale
On Thursday 14th May, Year 12 students will be hosting a bake sale during lunchtime. Students are encouraged to bring change to purchase a sweet treat.
As a reminder, the school website outlines our three-tiered approach to supporting students with their mental health and wellbeing. This includes a clear overview of self-help resources and interventions that are available, both in and out of school, as well as a dedicated section exploring Support for Parents and Carers.
Thank you in advance for supporting Mental Health Awareness Week 2026.
