School Improvement Partner
Following the recent retirement of our longstanding School Improvement Partner, Sheldon School is seeking to appoint an experienced and highly credible senior leader to work alongside the Headteacher, senior leadership team and governors in driving continued school improvement.
This is a key strategic role, providing independent professional challenge and support across the school. The successful candidate will bring significant senior leadership experience, ideally with Ofsted inspection training or experience, and a proven track record of improving outcomes at scale.
The role will include:
- Undertaking subject and faculty reviews, providing clear evaluative feedback and actionable recommendations
- Delivering quality assurance across key aspects of the school’s work, including teaching, learning, curriculum and outcomes
- Working closely with the governing body to provide professional insight, assurance and challenge
- Supporting leaders through coaching and mentoring, drawing on a strong background in leadership development
- Acting as a trusted partner to senior leaders, providing strategic advice and constructive challenge
- Supporting the development, refinement and evaluation of school improvement planning, ensuring clarity, alignment and impact
We are looking for someone who:
- Is an experienced and respected senior educational leader (e.g. former Headteacher, Executive Leader or Inspector)
- Has a deep understanding of the current education landscape and Ofsted framework
- Is confident in evaluation, using evidence to diagnose strengths and areas for development
- Is confident on the understanding of TLAC and Rosenshine principles of instruction and how they lead to good practice
- Has strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build professional trust while maintaining appropriate challenge
- Is able to work flexibly and collaboratively, acting as a critical friend to the school
