Step Into It 2026
Thank you to Miss Spalding and our amazing Sheldon dancers for two nights of outstanding performances during our annual dance showcase, Step Into It.
Over 70 students participated in 22 pieces featuring tap, jazz, ballet, musical theatre, lyrical and contemporary dance. We also were treated to an encore performance of the pieces from our Disneyland Paris Performing Arts trip in October 2025 as well as the competition pieces from our Senior and Junior Dance Companies.
Many of the pieces were choreographed by students, highlighting the strength of our dance programme. Our youngest students in Year 7 and 8 also had the opportunity to work with a guest choreographer, Chloe Lucas, for their performance of ‘Dancing in the Street’. We love seeing our youngest dancers get involved in the production and hope that their love of dance that will continue throughout their time at Sheldon.
At the end of the performance, we celebrated two shining stars of Sheldon Dance, Amy and Tanisha, who will be leaving Sheldon Sixth Form at the end of this year. Both dancers have graced our stage with memorable performances throughout the years. We have been very lucky to watch them grow as dancers and students, and we wish them all the best in the future. Both girls have secured outstanding university placements that are a reflection of the talent and commitment they demonstrate as dancers.
The show would not be possible without the fantastic work of our technical crew on the lights and sound, Alfie-Jay and Hettie. We’d also like to thank the Sixth Form Volunteer team who provided refreshments during the interval to raise funds for our charity of the year, Wiltshire & Bath Air Ambulance.
Dancing is a wonderful form of creative expression that helps support physical health and mental wellbeing. Thank you to Miss Spalding for creating opportunities for all students to get involved in dance. It takes considerable effort to produce and choreograph a show of this scale and we would like to applaud her for all her hard work to keep Sheldon dancing throughout the year.
