Project 5000

Sheldon Sixth Form is committed to giving back to the community through Project 5000. Every student is expected to dedicate at least one of their study periods per week to volunteering. This could be mentoring younger students, helping in lower school lessons, supporting literacy intervention through Sheldon’s VIPERS programme or volunteering in the community. Students have volunteered in primary schools, care homes, charity shops and youth groups.

Volunteering is a highly rewarding experience for students. It is a great way to build their confidence, gain work experience and develop new skills that are highly valued by employers. Some students have even discovered their vocation through volunteer experiences.

Collectively, we make a huge contribution to our community with over 5000 hours of service annually, benefiting Chippenham and the surrounding areas.
