First Aid Training

24 Apr 26

A group of Year 8 students recently completed first aid training with Ian Chatterton, a paramedic and trainer. The students met after school over the last few weeks to receive intensive training in addition to the lessons they learned during the First Aid module in PSRE.

Their final session was this week, and all of our students earned a certificate of completion and record of their training. The group practiced CPR on dummies and learned how to administer an Epi Pen safely. They learned all about appropriate burn and wound dressings and how to place someone in the recovery position. Throughout the week they were asked to role play various scenarios to test their reactions and performed first aid on each other with some quite gruesome injuries!

We hope that our students enjoyed their training and will have the confidence to respond appropriately to an emergency situation.

Looking back with hindsight and at the overall picture, I absolutely loved my time at Sheldon.
