Christmas Concert 2025
The bells were jingling, the halls were decked and the festive season officially began with our annual Christmas Concert on Thursday 4 December 2025. The evening included musical performances from our school clubs -- Sheldon Voices, Brass Group, Flute Group, Ukulele Group and the extraordinary Sheldon Orchestra -- as well as solo and duet performances by Anayah, Andrew, Asilah, Charlie, Raven and Savana.
We were treated to classical pieces, carols, modern pop hits and a bit of cheeky Christmas cheer--most notably with the surprise appearance of a brass playing horse during the flute group's amusing rendition of Jingle Bells. There is not shortage of musical talent at Sheldon and it was a pleasure to see our seasoned performers welcome so many new Year 7 students to our music groups. The audience also had a chance to become part of the show as we invited everyone to sing the Christmas carols Oh Come All Ye Faithful and Hark! The Herald Angels Sing. Thank you all for joining in and creating such a warm and festive atmosphere in our school hall.
The evening is a labour of love for our Music Faculty who work with students during their lunch breaks and after school throughout the year to help prepare their performances. Thank you to Mr Goldsworthy, Mrs Hall and all of our peripatetic music teachers for sharing their love of music with our students. We'd also like to say a huge thank you to Mr Foo from our Math Faculty for also being part of our Brass Group and Orchestra and performing alongside our students tonight.
We also had three new students behind the scenes working tech for the show who did a brilliant job running the sound and lights, as well as stage managing the instrument set ups. Thank you to Albie, Isaac and Luke for learning the ropes quickly and putting on a fantastic show!
Thank you to the Sheldon Sixth Form Student Leadership Team for serving refreshments during the interval to raise money for our school charity of the year, Wiltshire Air Ambulance. If you would like to make a contribution to the charity, you can do so on our school's fundraising page here.
