Congratulations Mrs Venner

1 Sep 26

Please join us in celebrating our amazing Head of Geography, Mrs Venner, for completing her first Ironman in Sweden this summer in an incredible 13 hours and 45 minutes! Her race began with a 3.8km swim, followed by a 180km cycle in very windy conditions, finishing with a 42.2km marathon run on extremely tired legs. Mrs Venner in an incredible role model for our students, showing that hard work and determination can get you through many challenging situations. She definitely embodies our Sheldon values to be kind, be brave and be the best you.

This is an incredible physical challenge, made even more incredible by her fundraising efforts to support the students of Sheldon School. Thanks to her challenge and the generosity of the Sheldon community, she has raised £1,390 for the Friends of Sheldon School. Her fundraising page is still live if you would like to contribute and help support student enrichment activities at our school.

Of her achievement, Mrs Venner said: "I just wanted to extend a huge thank you to everyone who sponsored me in raising money for FOSS. Your incredibly generous donations mean we have raised nearly £1400 for the school which will have a huge impact on a number of students across the school community. It is truly appreciated!"

Having worked in many schools I can say that the environment at Sheldon School is one of the best I’ve ever seen. The standard of education and relationships I built with teachers were exceptional.
