Congratulations to Our Youth Councillors
Please join us in congratulating our newly elected members of the Wiltshire Youth Council. Ben and India will be representing the interests of Sheldon students and our school community, with Saskia acting as their Deputy. All of our new Youth Councillors will be honoured at a celebration event in Trowbridge this weekend.
Across the county over 5,700 students from Wiltshire secondary schools cast their votes, electing 41 new Youth Councillors. Along with selecting their preferred candidate, young people were asked about the issues that concern them the most. The issue that received the most votes and will become a top priority for new Youth Council members is Heath and Wellbeing, which received over 1,500 votes.
Thank you to all of our students for participating in the election and to all of our candidates for their thoughtful manifestos. We look forward to hearing more about your experience on the Youth Council and learning more about how you will prioritise Health and Wellbeing for young people in Chippenham. We are extremely proud of all the students that put themselves forward for this important role, demonstrating our school values to be kind, be brave and be the best you!
