Well done to all the girls who participated in Cross Country Week during their PE classes. We were so impressed by their enthusiasm, especially as they cheered each other on through the last bit of the run. Our cross country course starts in the front of the school and continues outside our grounds through the Donkey Fields and along the Hardenhuish Brook. Not only is this a beautiful landscape to run through with the autumnal colours of the changing leaves, but it gives them a good introduction to trail running by navigating tree roots, fallen leaves and even a couple of bridges. If any of our students enjoyed trying out cross country and would like to keep it up, there are plenty of opportunities in school and in the community. Talk to your PE teacher about joining the Athletics Club later in the school year or try out a Junior Park Run.

Thank you to our PE Faculty for organising the cross country run and to the Sixth Form helpers that marshalled the route and showed so much enthusiasm for the runners! Our Boys PE classes will take their turn later in the term.

Sheldon gave me confidence in my abilities and supported my ambitions. Going to a state school has many benefits over private in terms of real-world experience and being friends with a varied group of students. This has helped me in my life since school.
