Hello Yellow Day 2024

11 Oct 24

Thank you to everyone who supported World Mental Health Day and Hello Yellow, an opportunity to show every young person they are not alone with their mental health.

We were pleased to see so many lovely yellow bows and ribbons on our younger students, as well as full yellow outfits on our Sixth Form students. The star of the day was definitely seeing Big Bird attending classes! We had a full house for our Sixth Form v Year 11 Quiz, organised by Harriet, Rhys and Rufus from the Sixth Form Leadership Team. Our younger students also enjoyed a Five Aside Football match in the Sports Hall.

We are still taking donations for YoungMinds via ParentPay. The funds we've raised will support their work to help young people look after their mental health. Visit the YoungMinds website to find out more about the advice and support they offer for both young people and parents.

At Sheldon, we support our students' mental health by providing a strong pastoral programme. Every morning begins with a dedicated tutor time and students meet regularly with their tutors for 1-to-1 meetings about their progress and goals for the future. Each Year Group also has a dedicated Pastoral Lead who is available to support students with their emotional and social wellbeing. Click here to learn more about your child's Pastoral Team.

Sheldon gave me confidence in my abilities and supported my ambitions. Going to a state school has many benefits over private in terms of real-world experience and being friends with a varied group of students. This has helped me in my life since school.
