Lesson from Auschwitz
Congratulations to Sheldon Sixth Form students Tess, Imogen, Eve and Anneka who will be travelling to Poland this week to begin their participation in the Lessons from Auschwitz programme organised by the Holocaust Educational Trust.
They will join other students from across the country as they take part in seminars, online learning and a one-day trip to Poland to learn more about the Holocaust and consider its relevance for today. At the end of the programme, they will be asked to develop an in-school project to share what they have learned and experienced.
The aims of the Lessons for Auschwitz programme are to help young people learn more about the history of the Holocaust and the role of concentration camps, consider the individuals whose lives were effected by the Holocaust and to reflect on on how this history can be reflected in current events. We look forward to hearing about their experience in Poland as well as learning from their special project later in the year.
