Sheldon Sixth Form Student Wins Photography Competition

5 Dec 24

We'd like to congratulate Dylan in Year 12 for winning the Chippenham Youth Council Photography Competition. The Sixth Form photography student won with his stunning image of a bee on a sunflower. The competition, organised by the Youth Council and Museum Photo Club, asked young people to submit photographs that matched the theme of ‘Natural World’ in Chippenham.  The winning photographs were announced during the Christmas Light Switch-On last weekend and Dylan was invited to Town Hall to receive his certificate and prizes from Mayor Conor Melvin. A framed copy of his work will now be on display in the Chippenham Museum!

If you're interested in becoming a photographer like Dylan, you may want to take it as a GCSE or A Level option. You can also join the Chippenham Museum Photo Club, an after-school club open to all young people aged 11-17.

I was head girl in 2015 and loved being able to speak to parents about my time at Sheldon when they were considering where their children should go. Because of how it has shaped me as a person I feel I am who I am today because of my time there.
