Y7 German Christmas Market Trip

12 Dec 24

Earlier this month our Year 7 students travelled to Birmingham to visit the Frankfurt Christmas Market. This is the largest authentic German Christmas market outside of Germany and Austria. Our Languages Faculty arranges the trip each year so that our students get a chance to experience a German culture, while enjoying traditional goods and food on a fun adventure outside of school. Our students (and staff) had a wonderful time sampling the bratwursts, pretzels, hot chocolate and sweets among the twinkly lights of Birmingham's Victoria Square. Our students were exceptionally well behaved and great representatives of Sheldon School. Thank you to the staff that attended and to Mrs Radford, Head of Languages, for organising the trip.

My favourite teacher was Mr Girvan. It was impossible not to absolutely love English if he taught it. He was just the nicest human being and he never raised his voice at our class once and I had him for years from year 8 to year 12.
