VP of Sales at Pokemon Visits Club

12 Dec 23

Yesterday our Pokemon Club had a visit from a very special guest, Simon Benton, VP of Sales for Pokemon (and former Sheldon parent!) Simon visited our club to talk all things Pokemon and share some items from his personal collection of cards. He also very generously donated items to the club that will be used as amazing prizes for upcoming Pokemon tournaments!

Simon showed of his extremely rare Ishihara GX card, modeled after the President of Pokemon. He also showed off his name plate that each Pokemon employee receives to collect their starter Pokemon and evolutions as they progress through the company. This sparked a lively discussion about what starter Pokemon each student would choose. They also got to flip though his personal collection of cards.

Christmas came early for Pokemon club attendees as Simon gave out card packs from the current Pokémon Scarlett & Violet Paradox Rift. Club goers also got to take home a Picachu with Grey Felt Hat card, this one can usually only be found in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam! One student commented, "it was the best decision of my life to come to this club today!" We can't thank Simon enough for visiting our school and for his generous donations to the club.

All the excitement of the afternoon even inspired a few new students to join the club. There's still spaces available if you want to battle and trade next term. Head to epraise to sign up or speak to Mr Humphries.

The Pokemon Club meets Monday afternoons from 3:15pm-4:15pm in the Library.

My favourite subject was maths because of my teacher Mr Davies who I would love to thank personally one day as I used to hate maths. I love making on impact on my students lives and knowing that I can do what Mr Davies did for me. Inspire.
