Chippenham Teen Takeover

23 Apr 24

This weekend is the Chippenham Teen Takeover with tons of free events for young people including sports, arts, music, theatre, dance, comedy, food and more!

Counsellor Liz Alstrom and Chippenham Library's Children & Youth Librarian, Tracy Hagar, visited Sheldon during break today to talk to students all about the great events available. Although they are all free, the events require booking and many are selling out! Go to One Chippenham today to make sure you are part of the fun!

We think our students would be very interested in the Christian Foley Hip Hop Poetry sessions at the Chippenham Library. Christian's interactive freestyles and improvised performances have been lauded by stars like 50 Cent and Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator of the musical Hamilton. This is a fantastic opportunity for young people passionate about writing and performance - not to be missed! But don't take our word for it, check out this video by Christian inviting the young people of Chippenham to come along on Saturday 27 April (sessions are at 12pm, 1:30pm or 3pm)

On Sunday 28 April there is a Family Open Day at Chippenham Sports Club from 11am-4pm with activities for all ages including cricket, bowls, badminton, cycling, dodgeball, fitness, hockey, running, netball, tennis and more! Click on the images below to see the timetable for the day.

Sheldon gave me confidence in my abilities and supported my ambitions. Going to a state school has many benefits over private in terms of real-world experience and being friends with a varied group of students. This has helped me in my life since school.
